
Aonishiki (12-3) took the Nagoya title, after a 3-way playoff with Kirishima (12-3) and Atamifuji (12-3), and also took the Technique prize. Kotoshoho (6-9), Yoshinofuji (6-9) and Oho (2-13) all ended with losing records. Hoshoryu (Yokozuna 1) withdrew on day 15 at 7-7 and Wakatakakage (Sekiwake 2) sat out from day 1, going kyūjō. Kotoeiho (Maegashira 7) flew the flag for the rank-and-file at 11-4. Special prizes: Outstanding Performance to Fujinokawa; Fighting Spirit to Atamifuji, Kotoeiho and Takayasu.
